A Poetic Perspective on God

Check out this awesome video that Ben put together of Joshua. It really brings to life a new perspective on the power of God.

It was using during a Fuse* service, in the Less and Less series.

The foundation for the series is found in John 3:30. “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Sunday Funday – 8/9/09

Sundays are pretty much my favorite day of the week. I get the chance to hang out with some amazing people and worship an amazing God. So I plan on writing a blog each Sunday night recapping what I experienced that day. I am going to title it Sunday Funday, because many times that term is taken as a negative but I plan on making it a positive thing.

I played 36 holes of golf yesterday, in under 7 and 1/2 hours might I add. That totally wiped me out. So, I crashed early and got alot of sleep. Actually woke up about 6am. I got ready and even made myself breakfast. ( If you know me, that should be a huge surprise because that never happens. )Before I went to bed last night I setup all my new podcast downloads. I have gotten really into Life Church.tv. I love what Craig Groeschel and the gang are doing there. As I ate my breakfast, I got hooked on a 3 part series that Dave Ramsey did there back in march called Life. Money. Hope. Wow, if you ever have wanted conviction to get out of debt that is a great series to start with. Dave tells you exactly what to do to get started and his passion will fire you up enough to want to do it. Getting 100% out of debt is actually one of my main focus points right now.

At the 9:30 service at Biltmore Baptist, Pastor Bruce continued the 2nd part of his Crazy Love series. The message was focused on loving others. Something that really stuck out to me was Luke 6:32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.” Dang. If we are going to show love like God shows us we are going to have to learn to love those that don’t love us back. That is a serious step and nearly impossible to do without Gods help. The new Vertical service starts at Biltmore on Aug 23rd at 6:00. If your interested in it click here to get all the details.

The 6:00 service at NewSpring rocked. Thats all I can say. Stephen Cope and the band KILLED the music. The service was focused on life change that has taken place in the church. Videos, mixed with some amazing music, had the entire place extremely emotional. You forget so many times the individual lives that are changed when you have a body of volunteers that are all christ focused and are ready to as Perry Noble would say, ” kick satan in the cookies.” Speaking of volunteers, I read on twitter today that Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC had a no volunteer day. They did it to show the impact of how much the volunteers mean to the church. I couldn’t imagine Elevation without volunteers, when you pull up there its a complete sea of orange.

I love Sundays. Just seeing the amazing things that are happening in peoples lives makes everything worth it.

That’s all for tonight. Time for bed.
