My 29th Birthday

On April 5th, I’m turning 29.

At first, this seemed surreal, life flies by. My last year of my 20′s. Wow.

But then I found out that millions of people don’t live to see their fifth birthdays. And why? Because they don’t have access to clean, safe water.

I’m going to celebrate my birthday like never before.

I’m asking for $29 from everyone I know — and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they’ve been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we’ll be able to see the communities we’ve helped!

My goal is to raise $5,000. This will help give water to 1 community, 250 people.

27 Million

I want you to say that number out loud. Twenty Seven Million.

That is the number of people that are affected by human trafficking right now. It’s real and its here. This isn’t a movie, it’s real life. Just thinking about that number completely breaks my heart. That in a world where everything is at our fingertips there are 27 Million people getting sold and living lives that we couldn’t even imagine. There is a way you can help.

Matt Redman has recorded a song called 27 Million, its sole purpose is to bring awareness to this horrific number. The song hits iTunes in the US tonight – buy it. All of the proceeds go to support the A21 Campaign. You could also give to the A21 Campaign directly and learn more about them here.

The Journey of Jeremy Lin

I’ll have to admit, over the past few years I’ve not been a huge NBA fan. I felt like the passion had been lost, and then the lockout happened and my dislike got even more stronger. Then I hear the story of Jeremy Lin, and I’ve been hooked. It has drawn me back, but who is this Jeremy Lin guy? This infographic, or as they are calling it linfographic gives you a nice breakdown.
